After you have typed your document in Open Office and want to format line spacing, alignment. and indentation, follow these steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Open Office software available online (see article on downloading.)
  1. Step 1

Put your cursor in front of the paragraph you want to edit.

Click on format and scroll down to paragraph.

Click on the indent and spacing tab.

If you want to indent, under indent put how far you want to indent the line.
Continue on like this for each line you desire indented.

  2. Step 2

If you want the spacing of your paragraphs changed, select the paragraph(s) and choose line spacing under format, paragraph.
There are seven choices for your paragraphs. The three most common choices are single, 1.5, and double. If you want your whole document like this select it all. (See warning below)

  3. Step 3

To align your text, click on the alignment tab and select the alignment you desire.

Your text can be left aligned, right aligned, center aligned, or justified.

You have the option of making your last line justified, left, centered, or expanding a single word.

Tips & Warnings
  • WARNING!!! If you select the paragraph, all lines will indent. If you want just the first line to indent JUST PUT YOUR CURSOR IN FRONT OF THE LINE!
  • If you select all your text and ALREADY have a double space it will have four spaces.
