Carp is typically known as a bottom-feeding fish, not usually sought after by American anglers. But the delicacies of carp, enjoyed by other nations for years are beginning to become more popular in the states. The perfect bait to catch a carp is often a matter of choice for various fishermen, some of who have their own secret recipes. Read a few of these tips to create the bait.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make carp bait out of real food that humans eat. Carp enjoy the wastes of human and bait that mimics the food they find in the lake is the best kind of bait to catch the sneaky fish.

  2. Step 2

Use dough balls as the base for the perfect carp bait. For the base, use dough balls made from cheap white bread. They won't separate in the water, but only become more doughy and hard.

  3. Step 3

Try different mixers with the dough to discover which bait makes your fishing more profitable. Some suggestions are oyster sauce, sweet corn and hot sauce or salmon oil.

  4. Step 4

Roll your dough balls in squirmy, live maggots. Carp love the creepy bugs and will flock to scarf them down.

  5. Step 5

Cover the entire fishing hook with the bait you've created. Carp are pretty intelligent and can spot a shiny hook in the water. You want it to be completely covered to give the big fish a chance to chew and feel comfortable with munching on your bait until the hook is set and you can reel it in.
