How to Delete a YouTube Account

YouTube is one of the most popular websites on the Internet for viewing videos. It was created in 2005 and has become a hangout for web surfers from all over the world. But if you've had enough of this time-killing phenomenon and wish to delete your YouTube account, it's not a hassle at all.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Bring up a new window on your Internet browser. Navigate to the YouTube website by typing the URL into the address bar and clicking enter. Allow the YouTube homepage to load.

  2. Step 2

    Click "Log In" in the top right corner.

  3. Step 3

    Type in your YouTube username and password, and then click "Enter." Wait for the next page to load and click "Account" at the top of the page.

  4. Step 4

    Notice on the next page there are numerous links to chose from. Scroll down to the Account section and click "Delete Account."

  5. Step 5

    Enter your password in the appropriate place on the next page. Enter a reason for deleting the account, and then click "Delete My Account."

Tips & Warnings
  • Deleting your YouTube account will limit the videos you can watch on YouTube.
  • Try to log back on to YouTube using your deleted account username and password to confirm the account has been deleted.
  • If you decide to reactivate your account, you will likely need a new username.
