Mostly seen on cruise ships and in finer hotels, towel origami is a fun way to make creatures of all kinds out of everyday bath towels. With a few folds and rolls, you can make your own creations to spruce up your guest bathroom or motivate your kids to actually use the towels. A fun and cute towel animal to make is a cat.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bath towel
  • 2 hand towels
  1. Step 1

Spread the bath towel flat on a level surface. Roll the towel from both of its shorter ends toward the middle until the two rolled portions meet in the middle.

  2. Step 2

Curl one end of the folded bath towel under itself. Bring it in about one-third of the length of the towel to form legs for your cat.

  3. Step 3

Take a hand towel, and fold it in half at its width. Hold one corner, and roll the towel into a cone shape.

  4. Step 4

Place the wide end of the cone-shaped hand towel at the portion of the bath towel that's folded under. Tuck the cone between the rolls in the bath towel to make the cat's tail.

  5. Step 5

Form the cat head by halving another hand towel at its width. Pull the open end of the fold back over the towel about three-quarters of the way. Fold the remaining quarter under so that the open end of the top lines up with this folded edge.

  6. Step 6

Hold the top layer of one corner of your hand towel. Place your opposite hand on the towel about 3 inches in from this edge, forming an L-shape with your thumb along the open long edge of the towel. Pull the corner toward the base of your thumb and crease the fold along your index finger. Repeat this step with the opposite corner to make ears for your cat.

  7. Step 7

Roll the ends of the towel toward each other until they meet in the middle. Place this head of your cat on top of the bath towel forward of the tail cone piece.
