Aloe vera has been used to treat skin irritations for centuries, and combined with healing essential oils, it makes a chemical-free, safe and soothing natural burn spray for minor burns, including sunburns. Not only will it soothe and heal the skin, but it will also help to prevent scarring.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 1/4 cup aloe vera juice
  • ½ tsp. vitamin E oil
  • 25 drops calendula essential oil
  • 25 drops lavender essential oil
  • 25 drops carrot seed essential oil
  • 7 drops rosemary or peppermint essential oil
  • 3 drops rose essential oil
  • 8 oz. glass spray bottle, dark colored
  1. Step 1

Place the aloe vera juice in a dark colored glass spray bottle. Add the essential oils and shake the mixture until it's thoroughly blended.

  2. Step 2

Store the natural burn spray in the refrigerator for up to six months. If you keep it at room temperature, it should be used within about 3 to 4 weeks.

  3. Step 3

Shake the natural burn spray before each use, and spritz it lightly on the burned area as often as needed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to use aloe vera juice and not gel. Aloe vera gel is too thick.
  • Tea tree oil is a good substitute for rose essential oil, which is often quite expensive. If you prefer, you can substitute geranium essential oil for lavender essential oil, or you can use a combination of both.
  • The natural burn spray is also great to tone oily skin on the face or back. Simply apply the liquid to the skin with a cotton ball.
