You don't have to be a scientist, a wine connoisseur or even a cook to whip this homemade wine into a gorgeous bouquet. While the ingredients list is short, the brew time is a little on the long side. Be patient--it's worth the wait.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 can of juice concentrate
  • Sugar
  • 1 package of wine-grade yeast
  • Jug
  • Large balloon
  • Rubber band
  • Cheese cloth
  1. Step 1

Combine one can of juice concentrate with sugar in a saucepan, and boil until sugar is dissolved. Add one package yeast to the mixture.

  2. Step 2

Pour those ingredients into a jug, and add cold water to fill the jug.

  3. Step 3

Rinse a large balloon out with water to get the inside as clean as possible.

  4. Step 4

Place the balloon over the mouth of the jug and secure it tightly with a rubber band.

  5. Step 5

Put the jug in a cool, dark place.

  6. Step 6

Check the brew daily. As the sugar turns into alcohol, the balloon fills with the gases. As it continues to ferment, the balloon deflates.

  7. Step 7

Remove the balloon when it has deflated, usually after about 6 weeks to 2 months. Strain the wine using cheesecloth to remove any yeast or sugar chunks, and store in a jug with lid.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't substitute wine-grade yeast for regular yeast. You can find it at your supermarket.
  • After you strain the wine, put it in corked bottles and keep cool to make it last longer.
  • Check with local authorities before selling any homemade wine. There may be laws prohibiting the sale.
  • The alcohol content of homemade brew wine is not easily controlled. Use judgment when drinking.
