How to Embrace One's Intelligence

Nothing is wrong with being the smartest person in the room. While it certainly is tacky to show off your intelligence, you can be confident in yourself without putting others down. Whether you possess street smarts, emotional substance or mathematical intelligence, maintain a semblance of humility while using your intelligence for good.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Use affirmations to remind yourself that you possess the intelligence needed to do a job or to pass a test. Put up notes and signs that you will see daily. Keep a journal and compliment yourself about your smart ways of thinking.
Step2
Raise your hand in class to answer questions. Put forward new ideas in a meeting. Open discussions that evoke others to think. An emotionally secure person is not afraid to show her intelligence in a group.
Step3
Take tests to affirm your intelligence. Take an IQ test if available. Ask a counselor to administer an emotional IQ test. By knowing your scores on these tests, you can validate your self-image and more easily embrace your intelligence quotient.
Step4
Associate yourself with other intelligent people. By hanging out with the smartest people in your class or at work, you won't have to dumb-down your vocabulary. You can continue to challenge your thinking processes in the company of others who share your emotional, social and physical smarts.
Step5
Read to feed your mind. Find books, projects and social groups that promote learning and development. While your intelligence may be genetic, you need to challenge yourself to grow. By learning new things and taking on bigger challenges, you will foster a genuine feeling of pride in your intelligence.
