If you play Pokemon leafgreen, firered, red or blue and would like to become a Pokemon master, you must first catch the best and fiercest Pokemon of all, Mewtwo. While catching Mewtwo is not easy, there are a few tricks that can help you add it to your collection, making your Pokemon team virtually indestructible.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Prepare to catch Mewtwo by building a team of Pokemon with levels between 65 and 80. If you still have your masterball you won't need quite so much strength. However, when catching Mewtwo, every little bit counts.
Step2
Begin with the difficult struggle of defeating the Pokemon league, which includes the champion as well as the elite four. Once defeated, you will receive the sapphire and the ruby, which you will need to give to Celio.
Step3
Go back to the Sevii Islands after your successful defeat of the Pokemon league to find Celio, friend of Bill. Turn over your jewels and he will instruct you on how to defeat the Pokemon Team Rocket to finish your missions.
Step4
Journey to Cerulean City and cross the Nugget Bridge. Turn left into the grassy area and follow the path to the water. At this point you should choose a Pokemon who can surf. Surf on the water until you reach land. Upon landing, you will be face to face with Mewtwo.
Step5
Save your game before you begin your battle against Mewtwo. If possible, try to freeze Mewtwo or put him to sleep before throwing balls. Throw your strongest balls first and interchange between the members of your Pokemon team to use all the strength you've got. Continue the battle until Mewtwo is weak enough to catch, restarting your game if you fail.
