A board game party can be a different and fun get-together for you and your friends. It's easy and very affordable to put together. Here is how you can throw a board game party.

From Quick Guide: Playing Board Games
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make a list of board games that you know you and your friends will enjoy playing. You won't want to have any board games at your party that people will not be interested in playing. One person not being into the game can make it an unhappy experience for everybody.

  2. Step 2

If a large group of people are attending your board game party, consider having two-player games available. For example, if you have 10 or more people attending your board game party, it may be wise to have a chess board and a checkers board available as well as your standard four to six person board games.

  3. Step 3

Don't have board games which will take hours to play at your party. Games like Monopoly or Risk can be fun but could also take an entire evening to finish. Save those games for other occasions instead of a board game party.

  4. Step 4

Have several different games of pursuit at your board game party. These games generally don't take very long to play and can be very exciting. Many of these are suited for up to six players, making them perfect for a party such as this.

  5. Step 5

Serve very simple snacks and drinks at your board game party. This should be a very laid back experience for everybody involved. A simple snack tray made up of crackers, cheese and cookies along with punch, soda and beer would be fine for any board game party.

  6. Step 6

Consider ending the board game party with a game that everybody can play together. For example, perhaps you could find a “Battle of the Sexes” board game where there could be teams. This is a nice to way to get everybody involved in one final game before the evening has concluded.
