How to Make Tiles Shine

This will help bring the shine back to old tile, though actual varnish is a bad idea.

Things You'll Need

• A rag
• Fabric softener
• Windex
• High grit sand paper

Instructions

1. First off, just try windexing the tile. The result wont be permanent, but you might be satisfied for the time being.

2. If not satisfied with step 1, apply a liberal amount of fabric softener to a rag and rub it into the tile. The results of this should be more lasting.

3. Finally, if unsatisfied with Steps 1 and 2, use a high grit sand paper to wetsand the tile until it has a nice sheen to it.

Tips & Warnings

• Liberal amounts of windex and fabric softener are fine, as its unlikely they will damage the tile.

• As with sanding anything, try it on a small part of the tile first. With a fine enough grit, you most likely wont injure the tile, but better safe than sorry.
