Great Christmas Craft to do with children!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Old Christmas Cards
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Cup for template
  • Ruler
  • Razor Blade
  1. Step 1

Using the bottom of a cup as a template, sketch twenty circles on Christmas cards and cut them out.

  2. Step 2

Cut a circle the same size as the others on a piece of scrap cardboard. Using a protractor, draft an equilateral triangle with corners touching the edges of the circle; cut out as a template.

  3. Step 3

Lightly mark the triangle on the wrong side on each circle and score the edges; turn the circles up in three sections along scored edges.

  4. Step 4

Fold in scored flaps toward center on each circle. With a low temp glue gun, attach five circles together by gluing the backs of the flaps together on two sides, triangle points to the center, completing the ball top by gluing the first circle to the fifth. Glue an additional circle to the bottom flaps of each of the original five circles, creating a sphere. Set aside and repeat for the remaining ten circles. Glue the two ten-circle clusters together at open flaps to create the finished sphere.

  5. Step 5

Thread sheer ribbon through the ornament, adding beads, bells, or charms to the bottom, and tie off to finish.

  6. Step 6

Add embellishments, glitter, etc.. to finished sphere.
