The skin on your hands is tougher than the skin on your face and needs special attention. Treat your hands to a spa manicure for healthier nails and skin on your hands. Follow these tips to exfoliate hands and use hot towels to keep your hands soft and smooth.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sea salt
  • Sugar
  • Grape seed oil
  • Spatula
  • Hot water
  • 3 towels
  1. Step 1

Make an exfoliating scrub. Mix together sea salt, sugar and grape seed oil. The combination of ingredients removes dead cells, it also adds nutrients and moisture to the skin.

  2. Step 2

Grasp the spatula and scoop out a dollop of exfoliant into the palm of your hand. Dip the hand in hot water to wet the exfoliant.

  3. Step 3

Alternate hands and use long strokes to rub the exfoliant into the skin from the hand up to the elbow. Apply only light pressure and keep the strokes smooth and brisk until the exfoliant has been thoroughly massaged into the skin.

  4. Step 4

Repeat Steps 2 through 3 to exfoliate the other arm.

  5. Step 5

Soak two towels in hot water and wring out the excess. Wrap the hot towels around your arms. Cross arms over each other and cover with a dry towel. Allow to sit for several minutes to relax sore muscles and penetrate the pores.

Tips & Warnings
  • Prevent hot water burns by testing the temperature when applying hot towels and water directly to skin.
  • Exfoliate hands no more than once weekly. Repeated use could lead to dry, tight skin with increased sensitivity.
