How to Apply Liquid Concealer

The purpose of a liquid concealer is to hide uneven skin tones, lighten dark areas under or above your eyes and cover small blemishes. Liquid concealers work better than sticks or heavy creams for people with dry skin and for larger areas of your face, such as under your eyes. You can use liquid concealer alone or in combination with a foundation.

Instructions

1. Choose a concealer, which is a shade lighter than your foundation, particularly if you want to cover dark under-eye circles. Test different shades until you find the best match for your coloring. Rememberwhere you will be seen. Concealers look quite different in daylight versus artificial light.

2. Apply your concealer with a small-tipped makeup brush, dabbing it into the desired areas. Then use your finger to dab it in rather than rub it in. Rubbing causes the concealer to come off instead of soaking into your skin.

3. Pat the concealer on until it blends. Otherwise, it appears blotchy and unnatural.

4. Set your concealer with a lightweight or translucent powder. This helps prevent your concealer from creasing or rubbing off. If you have extremely dry skin, you may not need powder.

• If you don't use foundation and only concealer, find a concealer shade that matches your skin color.

• If you have a difficult time finding the perfect concealer shade, try mixing two shades to find the best match.
