It baffles me that the people on all these comments want a step by step guide....as if. Anything worthwhile with potential for great profit requires specialized knowledge, no such thing as something for nothing gentlemen. Your best bet is taking a couple of classes in college regarding imports/exports, international law, etc. Just like I did, don't just expect someone to do all the hard work for you....wishful thinking is for boys.

im trying to import wine from my families in sicily, spoke to ttb people and ny state people about how to go about it. can i recieve my first shipment as a gift thru reguler mail ..with a basic permit from the ttb and also how would i become an EXCLUSIVE importer of that wine. would i have to get an attorney...what fees are involved for the attorney .CAN YOU GIVE ME STEP BY STEP TO DO THIS . Your step by step is informative, but how much, how many bottles do you consider a small amount? I've written to many federal and local state agencies regarding the rules & regs, trying to avoid the cost of expensive attorney's, but this seems like a daunting task to say the least, but worthwile and potentially lucrative. Is there any way to cut thru the maze of forms and just get a straightforward "guide", step by step to make this a reality? My interest lies in importing from South America. Thank you for your time!
