Superman, that great American icon, rocketed to earth from Krypton on June 30. On this special day, fans from around the world celebrate the original super hero. You can hold your own celebration of Superman's birthday even if you don't own a red cape.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decorate your house with blue and red streamers, balloons and Superman memorabilia. Then rent or buy Superman movies to watch during your birthday party.

  2. Step 2

Bake a super cake. Start with a 13 by 9 inch birthday cake of your favorite flavor. Cover it with royal blue frosting and use red and yellow frosting to re-create Superman's "S" emblem in the middle of the cake.

  3. Step 3

Add costumes. Encourage your friends to wear their best super suits to celebrate. Provide prizes for the best costumes to make sure your guests get into the spirit of the day and don their red capes and blue tights. Or go all Justice League with your party. Designate some to dress as Superman, the guest of honor, and pick other guests to come as Wonder Woman, Batman, the Green Lantern, the Flash and other members of the JLA, past and future.

  4. Step 4

Pour a signature Superman drink. Pour 1 part Bailey's Irish Cream, 1 part blue Curacao and 1 part banana liqueur over ice in a shaker, shake them together well and strain into shot glasses.

  5. Step 5

Send your friends home with Superman party favors. Comics, action figures and balloons make fun mementos. A reproduction of the first Superman comic book appearance would be ideal (the real thing would cost you something in the six figures, depending on its condition).
