There are different squeegees available for your automotive or household cleaning needs. They all offer time savings and great results with the proper use. Squeegees are readily available in many shops, stores and through online car wash accessory companies.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider applications. There are squeegees available for washing, drying, vacuuming and detailing. If you are performing auto detailing services, you want one of each. If you are detailing your own vehicle, consider the products you already have and expand on those.

  2. Step 2

Pick a material based on use. Generally, window squeegees are made of a foam with a mesh covering. The mesh helps get dirt and bugs off the windshield without damaging the glass and it can safely work soap scum off shower doors and tile. Anything used on auto paint should be extremely soft.

  3. Step 3

Check out the companies that sell automotive squeegees. Brookstone offers a cordless vac with squeegee attachment that is great for picking up pet hair.

  4. Step 4

Buy two or three squeegees for the various uses around your home, and one for each shower or tub area. Shower squeegees will usually have a flexible rubber edge and come in a variety of sizes and widths.

  5. Step 5

Compare the cost, quality, return policy and shipping costs of the squeegee companies you are interested in purchasing from. This can save you time, money and a headache later if you need to return a product.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take time to clean your squeegees after each use, to avoid bacteria, mold and other build up from contaminating the next time you use them to clean.
