Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is based on close fighting and grappling techniques that give a smaller combatant an opportunity to defeat a larger opponent by using the size of the opponent to gain an advantage. If a person masters these techniques and moves, they can defend themselves against most attackers.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin with your legs firmly wrapped around the opponent's waist. Be sure to cross the feet behind the opponent to attain the proper leverage and strength for the double cross chock move.

  2. Step 2

Reach with the right hand and grab the opponent under the collar of their right shoulder. Keep the small of the back as close to the floor as possible.

  3. Step 3

Take the left hand and go under the right hand to complete the same hold of the collar or shirt on the opponent's left side near the left shoulder. Keep the right hand grasped firmly when moving the left hand into place. Your hands should form a cross or ex with the inner forearm facing towards you.

  4. Step 4

Pull the opponent forward using your legs while pushing toward the opponent with your crossed arms. The opponent's neck is pressured inside the "V" formed by the crossed arms.

  5. Step 5

Release the opponent when they give in or start to lose consciousness. Remove the grip of the hands, unclasp the legs and roll out of the double cross choke in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
