There are lots of eHow articles waiting to be written. You know that you have worthwhile information tucked away in your brain. What do you know that would help others? It's hard to get the ideas flowing, but here are some ways to trigger your writing.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • internet access
  • mindfulness
  • a notepad and pen

Step1
As you follow your daily routine, tune into what you are doing. It's routine for you, but are there others out there who don't know how to do these things?
After you practice this watchfulness for a few days, you'll find yourself more aware of what you do and what the steps are to do it. Keep the paper and pen handy to note down ideas.
Step2
Yahoo Answers website Check out websites like Yahoo Answers, Answer Bag or Just Answer. Look at the questions people ask on there. Do you know the answers to some questions? Can you add enough detail to make it an eHow article with step-by-step instructions?
Example: A question seeking sympathy for a dog's death might trigger an eHow article about "How to Respond if You Hit an Animal with Your Car".
Step3
Besides a specific question on Yahoo Answers, also look for trends in questions. For example, if high school students frequently ask for answers on relationships and dating, there may be general tips you could turn into an article about "How to Know if Your Boyfriend Likes Someone Else Better."
Step4
Browse the website 43 Things for ideas. People list all sorts of goals there. Those goals make good topics for how-to articles.
Step5
Check out the list of requested topics on eHow frequently. There may be one you have the expertise to write.
Step6
Keep a folder to toss the notes into. Turn the most exciting topics into immediate articles on eHow. The lukewarm ones may need to simmer a few days while you gather more information or take more time to observe how you do something.

Tips & Warnings

  • Search eHow using keywords to see if the article already exists. Consider how yours would be different or better. If someone beat you to the idea, cross it off your list and start looking for other topics.
