      Many different companies offer pre-licensing educational courses for insurance agents in the State of Colorado. If you want to get your Property & Casualty and Life, Accident & Health license, be aware that you will need to take 2 different sets of classes: 1 for the P&C and 1 for the L,A&H license.

      Be sure to select "Approved Providers Inquiry" and then select Colorado. Select "Pre-Licensing" to find businesses that specialize in meeting these educational requirements.

      Register, pay for and attend the classes. Some of the classes are self-study so you're on your own to read, study and learn the material. Bring your pen and paper since you'll need to take good notes. The pre-licensing courses will furnish all of the educational materials that you need with the exception of your own pen and paper to take notes.

      Once you have successfully completed your class, you will receive evidence to verify that you have successfully completed the coursework.

      The next step is to register and take the exam required by the State of Colorado. To do this, contact Promissor/Pearson VUE. The link to their website appears at the bottom of this article under the tab labeled "Resources."



      Before you can register to take an exam, you will need to register to get a check in code from Promissor/Pearson VUE. The link for this is on their website. Should you have any questions, you can contact them at (800) 274-2616.
