Instructions

    • 1

Spray the windows with an automotive glass cleaner. A special auto glass cleaner is a little more expensive but is a good investment. Household glass cleaners contain ammonia that leave streaks on the glass and make smudges more noticeable.

    • 2

Wipe the glass with a lint-free cloth, newspaper or paper towel. Wipe in one direction, either up and down or left to right. Make sure to clean all the corners and edges of the car windows.

    • 3

Repeat Steps 1 and 2 on the other side of the glass, wiping in the opposite direction in order to show any dirt or residue still on the window. When cleaning windows that are slanted, point your fingers down and put the towel on your palm. This allows you to use more upper arm strength and helps you follow the tilt of the glass.

    • 4

Clean the other windows and all the mirrors following the same process. Roll down the door windows and clean the top, then roll them back up and finish the window.

    • 5

Apply a glass polish if the windows are showing signs of wear. Follow the product instructions and then re-clean your windows.

Tips & Warnings

  • On hot and sunny days, park your vehicle in the shade and let the glass cool before cleaning. Glass cleaners can evaporate in the sun, leaving a residue on the car windows.
