Seed beads are the tiny, little beads used in different projects. They come in a variety of colors and sizes and are unique because you can pattern them to make interesting designs. Making your own seed bead patterns is very easy.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Learn the basics of working with beads, seed beads in particular. Also, learn to work with the necessary tools and supplies needed for beading.

  2. Step 2

Decide on the type of design you would like. It can be something as simple as a patterned strand or as intricate as a beaded purse. If you have never done designing or seed beading before, you may want to start with a simple project first.

  3. Step 3

Plot your design out on graph paper. In each square designate what color seed bead you want to use. You can see your pattern emerge from the paper this way. Plot out how big you want your design to be and fill it in with your design.

  4. Step 4

Acquire your supplies. Refer to your pattern to see how many beads you need of each color. Seed beads can be purchased at craft stores, bead stores or online.

  5. Step 5

Work your design. Follow your pattern but make changes, if necessary. You can do whatever you like to make it uniquely yours.
