Step 1
Begin in a basic overhang position. This means that you hang back on your arms instead of using your arms to pull up. Keep your knees bent and most of your weight should rest on your feet.
-
Step 2
Keep your hips close to the rock. This naturally occurs in an overhang position. If you can only hang on with 1 hand or foot, know that hanging on with a foot and hand on the same side can cause your body to shift away from the rock, while using a hand and foot on the opposite side can help you keep your balance.
-
Step 3
Lift all of your weight with your legs. All the power of the motion comes from your legs, not your arms. Leap from your position toward the target position.
-
Step 4
Direct your movement with your arms. You are getting momentum from your legs that is guided with your arms. Grab on to your next hold with your arms, and pull yourself into the next position.
-
Step 5
Develop an excellent sense of balance to help master more challenging dyno moves. Do this with daily practicing.
