Things You'll Need:
- Stage makeup bruise wheel
- Makeup applicator wedge
- Stipple applicator wedge
- Translucent powder
- Velour puff
-
Step 1
Clean the areas you wish to put bruises on. If you want to make fake bruises on the face, make sure hair is pulled back. You should also have some real bruises or pictures to help give you tips for your creation.
-
Step 2
Apply red makeup from the stage makeup wheel to the regular applicator sponge. These sponges will absorb the oils in the makeup so dab the red on sparingly.
-
Step 3
Use the applicator to apply the red makeup to the area. With a dabbing motion and irregular pressure, cover the area with mottled red paint. Try to avoid making the bruise look one dimensional and use the least amount of paint possible.
-
Step 4
Set the first layer of the bruise with the translucent powder. Shake some powder onto the puff, shake off the excess powder and then dab the powder onto the first layer of makeup.
-
Step 5
Repeat the application with the stipple applicator. This should first be done with the red. Then use the stipple applicator to apply a layer of green or black. The darker colors will depend on how how fresh a bruise you want to create. You can also create more dimension with the tips of your sponges.
-
Step 6
Powder the layer of green or black with the translucent powder to set the bruise. Once the fake bruise is applied to your liking, the final powder set should be a bit heavier than the others but not too heavy.
