Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Brush to apply the eye shadow
  • Eye shadow
  • Cotton swab
  1. Step 1

Pick out an eye shadow that you would like to use as an eyeliner. Good color choices include browns, navy and charcoals although you can use any color you want to get the desired look.

  2. Step 2

Choose an angled makeup brush, liner brush or flat eye shadow applicator that you can use to apply the eye shadow as eyeliner.

  3. Step 3

Dip the brush into the eye shadow, being sure to lightly tap off any excess eye shadow that was picked up on the brush or applicator.

  4. Step 4

Start applying the eyeliner at the inside of the eye, moving toward the outer corner of the eye.

  5. Step 5

Use short, feathery brush strokes to apply the eye shadow just above the upper lash line and below the lower lash line.

  6. Step 6

Blend the eye shadow lightly with a cotton swab until you achieve the look that you want. The more you blend, the smokier the look.

Tips & Warnings
  • For an even softer look, dampen the brush or applicator before dipping it in the eye shadow.
  • Try more colorful eye shadows and apply them as an eyeliner to the upper lid only to create a fun, but still sophisticated look.
