Enter any makeup store, and you'll discover that there's no shortage of blush formulations. You can choose from powder blush, cream blush, or mouse blush products. Powder blush is a popular choice, but cream blush is definitely making a comeback. Make the most impact by applying cream blush like a professional makeup artist. Read on to learn how to apply cream blush.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a flattering cream blush color. Visit a department store makeup counter for a complimentary makeup session if you're having trouble picking the best color for your skin tone.

  2. Step 2

Put a small amount of cream blush on your fingers then blend your fingers together. The heat from your hand will melt the blush a bit, making it easier to apply.

  3. Step 3

Apply cream blush to the "apples" of your cheeks blending upward and outward. The apple of your cheek is the top part of your cheek bone on either side.

  4. Step 4

Put a light layer of foundation over blush if you accidentally use too much blush. Then lightly reapply blush, this time using a smaller amount.

Tips & Warnings
  • Cream blush is difficult, if not impossible, to apply using makeup applicators or sponges.
  • Do a trial run with cream blush when you're at home and have no where to go. If you're used to using powder blush, it might take a few tries until you figure out how to apply cream blush properly.
  • Wash your hands after applying cream blush to remove any remaining residue.
