Step 1
Select someone unusual to deliver the wedding toast. Perhaps a 5-year-old nephew could rehearse something funny to say. A great-grandpa might be able to toss in some marriage advice. This toast can be followed by the traditional best man and maid-of-honor toasts.
-
Step 2
Choose a unique way to deliver the toast. Create a Powerpoint presentation showing the history of the bride and groom meeting, their dating years or some funny memories. Use the wedding colors in the Powerpoint background.
-
Step 3
Present a humorous skit using the best man and the maid of honor in place of the bride and groom. Act out their first meeting, first date, or toss in a humorous first fight with advice on how to make up and keep the marriage strong.
-
Step 4
Create a toast that can be sung to a popular tune. Provide background music while singing the song, replacing the lyrics with words from the toast.
-
Step 5
Build in a moment of silence to mark the close of dating days. Have the groom donate his "black book" to a single guy in the wedding party. Open the "black book" and note that there's only the bride's name and phone number listed. Toss the black book over the shoulder.
-
Step 6
Review the wedding toast with the wedding party to ensure that it is acceptable and will go smoothly. Practice the wedding toast before the big day to ensure you can deliver the toast with flair.
