How to Collect Playing Cards

Many people buy playing cards; not as many collect them. Since there are so many styles and types of playing cards, collecting them is not difficult. You can get playing cards with cartoon characters, cars, witty sayings and travel destinations as well as many other.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Decide on the type of playing cards you want to collect. Of course, you don't have to narrow it down. You can always buy the cards that appeal to you and add them to your collection.

  2. Step 2

    Buy unusual cards such as Apollo II cards, cards that have outrageous sayings on them and history cards to name a few. These will be a nice addition to your collection.

  3. Step 3

    Pick cards that are different in shape from regular playing cards. You can find round, egg shaped and oval shaped playing cards.

  4. Step 4

    Select cards with special monograms, such as floral monogram playing cards, Gothic monogram playing cards or ornate monogram playing cards.

  5. Step 5

    Look for cards that will give history lessons. This can help your children learn--they have cards about not only the history of America, but other countries as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep an open mind when adding to your collection. There are some very unusual playing card designs out there.
  • Baseball, football and other sport playing cards are very popular and easy to obtain.
  • You can find mini playing decks, double bridge playing decks and special playing decks as well as regular playing decks.
  • Don't forget to buy playing cards when you are on vacation. They are a nice addition to your collection.
