The Mini Flash Music Player from Trio Solutions is a Macromedia approved Dreamweaver extension that works with versions of Dreamweaver beginning with Dreamweaver MX and higher. The following steps will explain how to use it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An Internet connection
  • Adobe Dreamweaver software
  1. Step 1

The Flash Mini Player extension costs $9.90. It is not a free extension. You can download it from either the Adobe Dreamweaver Exchange site or the Trio Solutions site. (Links are provided in Resources below.)

  2. Step 2

When you have the .mxp (Dreamweaver extensions use an .mxp file format) on your desktop, double-click it to install it in Dreamweaver.

  3. Step 3

Reopen Dreamweaver after installing the new extension. To add the Flash Mini Player to a page, go to Commands > MINIplayer.

  4. Step 4

A dialog opens. Here you specify the mp3 file (or files) you want in the player. You also specify the initial volume and whether you want the music to autoplay.

  5. Step 5

In addition to uploading the HTML page and the mp3 files to your server, there will be a new folder in your site called MINIplayer that contains the .swf and .xml files needed by the player. Upload the entire MINIplayer folder to your server.

Tips & Warnings
  • Setting the Mini Player to autoplay may cause people, especially people in work settings, to quickly close their page to turn off the music. It may be a better choice to let people decide for themselves whether or not the music will play.
