Step 1
Sinus pain is caused by the common cold. It can progress into bacterial problem (sinusitis).

Breathe steamy air to help your sinuses drain. Buy a steamer or make your own with a pot of boiling water and inhaling the steam every 15 minutes, 3 times a day.
For children:
Use a cool-mist vaporizer at night to help keep there nasal secretions loose and draining. -
Step 3
Elevate the head of your bed to help your sinuses drain at night.

Use over-the-counter oral or nasal decongestants. DON'T use nasal sprays more than 3 days! Doing so can cause a rebound effect that will worsen your congestion.

Step 5
If you have a cold:
-Use aspirin, acetaminophen or ibuprofen. -
Step 6
Drink plenty of water. At least 6 to 8 glasses a day and get plenty of rest. Drinking water keep your nasal secretions loose.

Avoid allergens and cigarette smoke.
