Relocating to a new area presents many challenges, and finding a new doctor is one of them. You don't want to put your healthcare in the hands of just anyone. Use the Internet and other resources to make a sound choice.
Determine the hospital you plan to use or such that is dictated by your insurance. In the hunt to find a primary care physician, ensure that the physician is on staff or has proper credentials for where you plan to receive care for serious illness or injury.
Step2
Call at least two physician referral lines. These can be found in the local phone book or online. Note that the recommendations are not always unbiased as they may promote specific networks of physicians. Typically, however, the basic information is sound, including the doctor's specialties, insurance plans and office hours.
Step3
Try non-profit organizations that serve your health condition to receive recommendations generated by the organization. If the non-profit does not maintain a physicians' list, they may be able to guide you on how to find a doctor.
Step4
Investigate physician reviews online. Some “Locate a doctor” websites maintain these physician reviews in a database. Otherwise, research the proposed doctor's name and the name of his office for reviews, complaints and accolades.
Step5
Contact your local health department for assistance on how to find a doctor for your condition, particularly if it is somewhat uncommon.
Tips & Warnings
Obtain referrals from locals after your move or ask your present physician to recommend someone.

I don't even have to move to get a new doctor. Because my husband is ex-military we get new ones assigned to us constantly. It is unusually just after we get one broken in too. I hate it!
