Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • smart phone
  • know how
  • e-mail account
  1. Step 1

    You will first need to create a new account in your phone. You can usually find this in your messaging folder.

  2. Step 2

    Open the new account tab and then select Your e-mail provider:
    two options:
    1. Outlook
    2. Other(POP3 / IMAP)

    IMAP: Internet message access protocol.
    If you are setting up a Yahoo account or Gmail account use option 2.

    Click Next

  3. Step 3

    Now you must setup your e-mail.

    Enter your name, e-mail address (i.e yourname@yahoo.com).

    Uncheck the box: attempt to obtain e-mail settings from the internet.

    When done click next...

  4. Step 4

    If you are successful you should see a screen that asks for your username and password. Enter them now.

    Click next..

  5. Step 5

    Next you should see server type:
    1. POP3
    2. IMAP4

    Choose POP3 for Yahoo, Gmail
    Choose IMAP4 for AOL accounts

    The network will usually be:
    1. The Internet

    Sometimes you must use a WAP Network.

    Click next...

  6. Step 6

    Next enter the servers. See list of popular servers:

    The Gmail servers (Incoming and Outgoing) are:
    Incoming: pop.gmail.com (PORT 995)
    Outgoing: smtp.gmail.com (PORT 465)

    The Yahoo Servers are:
    Incoming: pop.mail.yahoo.com (PORT 110)
    Outgoing: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (PORT 25)

    The AOL Servers are:
    Incoming: imap.aol.com (PORT 143)
    Outgoing: smtp.aol.com

    Click Next...

  7. Step 7

    Next you will be asked about what you would like to download.
    i.e Last 3, 5, 7 days or all messages.

    Click next...

  8. Step 8

    Now you will be asked if you want your phone to automatically connect and check for e-mail periodically throughout the day. Choose what you like and click next...

  9. Step 9

    Setup is now complete click finish to begin using your e-mail!
