One of the most exciting features of the new Zune Digital Music Player is its ability to wirelessly "beam" music tracks and pictures to another Zune. Here's how to do it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Select SETTINGS in your Zune menu. Select WIRELESS to turn wireless on. When Wireless is turned on, you'll see an icon with three bars light up in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, right above the battery icon.

  2. Step 2

Locate a nearby Zune. Select SOCIAL, and then NEARBY. You'll see a list of nearby devices, with their online status. Currently, a Zune will only pick up another Zune within approximately 30 feet of its location.

  3. Step 3

To share a song, select MUSIC, and then SONGS. Choose the song you want to beam. Select SEND. Choose the Zune you want to beam your song to.

  4. Step 4

To send an album or playlist, select MUSIC. Select either ALBUMS or PLAYLISTS. Choose the album or playlist you want to beam. Select SEND.
Choose the Zune you want to beam your album or playlist to.

  5. Step 5

To send a picture, select PICTURES. Choose the picture you want to beam.
Press the center of the Zune pad and select SEND. Choose the Zune you want to beam your picture to.

  6. Step 6

To send a folder of pictures, select PICTURES. Select by folder. Choose the folder of pictures you want to beam. Select SEND. Choose the Zune you want to beam your pictures to.

  7. Step 7

To send a podcast, select PODCASTS, then choose the podcast you want to beam. Select SEND. Choose the Zune you want to beam your podcast to.

Tips & Warnings
  • While pictures and podcasts can be viewed without limitations, a beamed song can only be played three times.
