WPS is the format used by the Microsoft Works word processor. You would either need a converter or the original program to view the contents. Here is how you can do so.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Download the Works 2000 to Microsoft Word converter (see Resources below for link).

  2. Step 2

    Install and launch the application.

  3. Step 3

Once that is done, open up Microsoft Word.

  4. Step 4

Click on "File" and then "Open."

  5. Step 5

Under File Type, scroll down to the WPS file format and select that.

  6. Step 6

Navigate to the folder that you have stored the WPS file in and double-click on it. Your file will now be opened.

  7. Step 7

Save it as a DOC file format if you choose to.

Tips & Warnings
  • WPS is an outdated format. You should definitely convert all files to at least DOC format.
