Like floppy disks, the WPS file format is obsolete.

A file with the “.wps” file extension was created by the Microsoft Works 2000 word processor. This software is now obsolete and has been replaced by Microsoft Word. To open a WPS file, you must have Microsoft Works 2000 installed on your computer or you will need a free converter, which you can download from the Microsoft website.
