    Pick up a newspaper and thumb through the real estate section. You will immediately be able to pinpoint certain realtors that cator towards your price range and location. When you buy a house, Generally speaking, realtors tend to specialize in a certain location or property type.

    Call the realtors you have found in the newspaper and ask them some introductory questions. For example, let them know you are ready to buy a house and ask them if they have any inventory available with your specifications. A good realtor will take down your information and contact you with potential properties immediately.

    View specific realtor websites. Once you have narrowed down your search to 3 or 4 realtors, you should go on the Internet to view their websites. These sites have listings, references, credentials, and previous performance records.
