We all experience moments in life that are very trying. I've put together these tips to help those going through such times to find a little solace in a time of upheaval.
Lean on your friends, or find yourself a good support network, if you're friends aren't quite that dependable. It's important to have someone to talk to when you're experiencing trying times. If need be, turn to a professional counselor for ongoing support.
Step2
Simplify your life. Now is the time to keep your life as simple as possible. Don't begin planning trips, renovating your house, switching careers, etc. in the midst of such a time (unless dealing with one of the issues listed above, for example, WOULD simplify your life).
Step3
Surround yourself with peace and quiet. Turn off the news, any loud music, or steal away from other family members into a quiet room for some peace of mind.
Step4
Slow down. Often when we're in turmoil, our minds are racing ten thouse miles ahead. Slow down, not just mentally but physically. Take the time to think things through. Sit down and take notes if need be, on how you can make things easier for yourself.
Step5
Keep in mind -- this too shall pass. We tend to think problems will last forever. But they, like everything else, are only temporary.

What a unique article packed with a lot of practical advice. I would just like to add that your friends want to be there for you. They feel bad when you don't lean on them!
And, I'm all for simplifying. This will greatly reduce stress in your life.
