Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clear base coat
  • Neutral or pink French manicure polish
  • Cotton swabs
  • Nail polish remover
  • Water
  • Soap
  • Orange stick
  1. Step 1

Remove old nail polish using a cotton swap and polish remover. Wash your nails in warm, soapy water to remove any residue.

  2. Step 2

Soak your nails in clean, warm water for 5 minutes. Dry your hands. Push the cuticles of each nail back with an orange stick. Use a cuticle trimmer to remove excess skin if needed.

  3. Step 3

Paint each nail with 1 coat of clear nail base. Let the base coat dry according to the manufacturer recommendations, usually 2 to 3 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Choose a neutral, skin toned polish for a natural look. Choose a pink tinted polish for a more modern French manicure.

  5. Step 5

Paint each nail bed with the French colored base coat. Allow each nail to dry for 2 to 3 minutes. Reapply a second coat of French colored base to each nail. Let your nails dry again before applying the tip polish.

  6. Step 6

Remove misplaced polish using an orange stick or cotton swap. Dip a small part of the stick, or swab, into polish remover. Carefully rub the polish that is on the skin surrounding the nails.
