That dull white background on your OpenOffice Impress presentation won't be grabbing anyone's attention. Take the time to change it to something that will really make your presentation outstanding.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • OpenOffice Impress

Step1
Open OpenOffice Impress, and start a new blank presentation or open an existing presentation from your files.
Step2
Hold down the "CTRL" and "A" keys on your keyboard, and click anywhere on the "Slides" task pane to select the entire presentation.
Step3
Choose the "Format" menu, and click on "Page" to bring up the "Page Setup" dialog box.
Step4
Click on the "Background" tab, if necessary, to display the background options.
Step5
Use the drop-down menu under "File" to choose either "Color," "Gradient," "Hatching" or "Bitmap" to display the specific options for the file you have chosen.
Step6
Select an option from the scroll box that appears below the choice you made in Step 5. A preview of this choice will be shown in a box below the choices.
Step7
Make any additional choices in the "Page Setup" dialog box and click the "OK" button to close the dialog box and change the background. If you see a confirmation dialog box, press the "OK" button to apply the background to all of the slides.

Tips & Warnings

  • Choose the "View" menu, and click on "Slides pane" if you don't see it displayed on the left side of your Impress work area.
