Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Measure 1 and 1/4 cups of baking soda and 1/2 cup of citric acid in a bowl, mixing until thoroughly combined.

  2. Step 2

Add 15 drops of lemon essential oil, 2 tsp. of water and 1/2 tbsp. of honey to the bowl. If desired, you may add about 5 drops of food coloring for an extra touch.

  3. Step 3

Drizzle between 2 and 6 tbsp. of almond oil into the mixture. Add gradually, stirring the mixture well after each addition. Only add enough almond oil that the mixture holds together in a ball without crumbling.

  4. Step 4

Pack your bath bomb mixture firmly into lightly oiled molds. Allow the mixture to set in the molds for a few minutes before gently tapping out the bath bombs. Set your finished lemon and honey bath bombs on a sheet of waxed paper until thoroughly dry. Once dry, store your bath bombs in an airtight container.

Tips & Warnings
  • Specially designed molds are available for making bath bombs; however, you may also use candy or chocolate molds, or even muffin tins. Be sure to pack the molds as tightly as possible to prevent crumbling when dry.
  • It can take up to 2 days for your finished bath bombs to dry thoroughly, depending on your climate.
  • This recipe should make about 7 lemon and honey bath bombs.
