Instructions

    • 1

Choose an old sweater that you won't mind being without. Use one that you know the sleeves will fit around your legs.

    • 2

Remove both of the sleeves by using a seam ripper at the seams where they connect to the sweater. If you can't remove the seams this way, simply cut them off.

    • 3

Hem both ends of the sleeves if you need to in order to prevent them from unraveling. You will have to do this if you have removed the sleeves by cutting them off.

    • 4

Find ribbon that matches the sweater. Fold the ribbon at the tip and thread it through the eye of a plastic weaving needle.

    • 5

Weave the ribbon around the part of the sleeve that would be at your wrists. Leave ample ribbon on each side where they connect so it can be tied into a bow.

    • 6

Put your leg warmers on each leg. Make sure the ribbon part is at the top of the leg and the other end is around your heel.

    • 7

Tie the ribbon at the top to ensure that it does not slip down the leg.

Tips & Warnings

  • Instead of the ribbon, you can put elastic into the hems of your leg warmers. Any fabric, crafts or department store will sell strips of elastic in varying widths.
