How to Bead a Lighter Case. A beaded lighter case adds a personal touch to your lighter whether you're a man or a woman. It can change a basic, inexpensive lighter into a conversation starter. Even beginner beading enthusiasts can create lighter cases that look professional. Read on to learn how to bead a lighter case.
Step 1
Know how to stitch beads. You can use a regular peyote stitch and zip up the sides when you finish your pattern or you can use a tubular peyote stitch. You can also use a brick stitch or any kind of net stitch.

Pick a pattern or a design that you like. You can also make your own pattern using peyote stitch graph paper. Some beginners like to forgo a pattern and just alternate two colors of seed beads.
Step 3
Make sure the pattern fits the lighter you want to cover. Patterns that are designed for regular lighters won't fit mini-lighters. If you aren't sure on the size of the lighter, select a pattern that can easily be repeated or shortened without distorting the design.
Step 4
Start beading with the bottom row of your pattern. When you finish the first row, loop the thread through the first bead and begin your second row.
Step 5
Secure the first row of beads to the second row of beads by threading the needle through the first row bead before adding each second row bead.
Step 6
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you've reached your desired height for the lighter case.
Step 7
Tie off the ends of the thread and slide your lighter into your new case.
Tip
Start your first row on the actual lighter to get a perfect fit.
