Things You’ll Need:
- Computer with Microsoft Windows
Step1
Click “Start” and then click on “Control Panel.” If you are using an older version of Windows you will click “Start,” point to “Settings” and then click on “Control Panel.”

If your “Control Panel” is in “Category View,” click the option in the task pane that says “Switch to Classic View.”
Step3
In the “Control Panel” double click “Mouse.” The “Mouse Properties” dialog box will appear.
Step4
Click on the “Buttons” tab. Under “Button Configuration” you can switch the primary and secondary buttons by selecting the check box. Under “Double Click Speed,” you can use the slider to adjust your speed. Under “Click Lock” you can select the check box, which will allow you to highlight or drag without holding the mouse buttons.

Click the “Pointers” tab. Under “Scheme” you can choose from a menu of available system schemes which offer several different mouse pointer options. You can further customize the pointer in the “Customize” box.
Step6
Click the “Pointer Options” tab. Here you can adjust the pointer speed and visibility. You can also select the “Snap To” check box which will automatically move the pointer to a default button.
Step7
Click the “Wheel” tab, and you will find scrolling setting adjustment options.
Step8
When you are finished making your desired adjustments, click “Apply” and “OK.”
