Duct tape residue is the adhesive that is left on an object when the tape is peeled off. This residue is sticky and gummy and will attract dirt, debris and will look unsightly as well. Although it can be readily removed, always make sure to test an unobtrusive spot with a remover before actually applying it to the duct tape residue.   • Petroleum based spray lubricant
  • Old rag

Instructions

      Spray a petroleum based lubricant onto an old rag.

      Wipe the sticky area with the rag until the residue comes off.

      Wipe down the area with a clean rag to remove any left over lubricant spray.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are also commercially made petroleum based cleaners, available at any hardware store, that will also remove duct tape residue.

  • Try to keep WD40 away from windows. It will leave a cloudy film.
