If you want to nurture your child's creativity, but worry they'll eat their fingerpaints, try this! Even if they do try to chow down, the worst that'll happen to them is a messy face and a sugar high!
Mix the pudding with milk according to package directions.
Step2
Divide mixture into a few different bowls.
Step3
Add a few drops of liquid food coloring, or a tiny dab of paste food coloring to each portion. Use a different color for each bowl, and mix thoroughly.
Step4
Refrigerate until set.
Step5
Dress your child up in "playtime" clothes and give him or her a dollop of each color to play in. The tray of a high chair works very well, or you can put a splat mat right on the table and let your toddler go to town!
Tips & Warnings
Sprinkles, chocolate and butterscotch chips, and/o shredded coconut can all be used to add a hint of texture to baby's masterpiece.
You can also add, if you choose, a couple drops of food flavoring to each color- cherry for red, banana for yellow, maybe mint for green. This will give your child an all around sensory treat!
This "paint" will not keep.... don't try to keep it for longer than a couple of days in the fridge, and don't expect to save the resulting "artwork!"
