Make a Birthday Card With Rubber Stamps

Learn how to make this cute and easy birthday card. This was made with a Stampin Up! stamp and materials (except for the little jewels, which can be found in a craft shop). You can improvise with materials from other places if desired.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • card stock in the following colors--Sage Shadow (a pale, mossy green), Purely Pomegranate (a deep, pinkish red) and Very Vanilla
  • Designer paper (Flowers for You)
  • Happy Birthday Stamp
  • Four pink self-adhesive rhinestones
  • paper cutter or scissors
  • glue or double-sided tape
  1. Step 1

Cut the card stock and designer paper to the sizes you need. The Sage Shadow card stock should be 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches long. The Very Vanilla card stock (on which you will stamp the words) should be about 2 1/2 inches on each side. The strip of designer paper should be 5 1/2 by 2 inches long.

  2. Step 2

Fold the Sage Shadow paper in half. Use the bone folder for the crease if desired.

  3. Step 3

Affix the designer paper to the bottom half of what will be the front of the card, using glue or double-sided tape.

  4. Step 4

Stamp "Happy Happy Birthday" on the white square with Sage Shadow ink. If desired, run the edges of the square along the ink pad.

  5. Step 5

Affix the Purely Pomegranate square to the card at an angle so that one corner meets the top of the card at the halfway point. About half of the square should be on top of the designer paper and half on top of the card itself.

  6. Step 6

Affix the square with "Happy Happy Birthday" on it on top of the red square. The edges of the "Happy Happy Birthday" square should run parallel to the edges of the card.

  7. Step 7

Affix a pink rhinestone to each corner of the card.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is easier to cut out the Very Vanilla square before stamping the words because it is easier to center the stamp on the square than it is to make sure you are cutting evenly around the words.
