How to Change Your Comcast Email Password

Just like regular mail, email should be kept private. Sometimes important and sensitive information is received via email, such as bank account information and confidential work files. It is a good idea to get in the habit of changing the password on your Comcast email account from time to time to make it more secure. If you feel someone has gained access to your Comcast email password, you need to change it immediately.

Instructions

    Change Your Comcast Primary Account Password

  1. Step 1

    Visit the Comcast website and click "My Account" to gain access to all of the settings for your email accounts (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

    Choose the link "Change the password for any of my email accounts" in the "EMAIL SETTINGS" table by clicking on it.

  3. Step 3

    Choose your current account from the list in the drop down menu next to the words "Change Password for."

  4. Step 4

    Enter the new password in the box beside "New Password" and type the same password in again next to "Confirm Password."

  5. Step 5

    Change your secret question at this time or leave the same question and answer. To change the question, select a new question from the drop down menu located beside "Your Secret Question" and provide the answer in the box next to "Your Secret Answer."

  6. Step 6

    Apply the new password settings by clicking the "UPDATE" button at the bottom of the screen.

  8. Step 1

    Log in to your Comcast account at the Comcast website.

  9. Step 2

    Look for the "EMAIL SETTINGS" table on the webpage and click "Change my password."

  10. Step 3

    Scan down the page to find the words "Change Password for" and make sure your current account is showing. If your account is not showing, click the drop down menu and select it.

  11. Step 4

    Type in a new password in the box beside "New Password" and then type the same password again in the box beside "Confirm Password."

  12. Step 5

    Add or change the question associated with your account by selecting a question in the drop down menu beside "Your Secret Question." Provide the answer to your question in the box beside "Your Secret Answer."

  13. Step 6

    Accept the changes to your account by clicking the "UPDATE" button.

Tips & Warnings
  • Double check to make sure you are making changes to the right Comcast email account before you click the "UPDATE" button.
  • Go back and make sure your new password works by logging out and then back in to your Comcast email account.
  • Passwords are case sensitive with Comcast email and must be 8 to 16 characters in length.
  • Don't forget to change the password in your email program, such as Microsoft Outlook.
