How to Set Ask.com as Your Homepage

  1. Using Internet Explorer

      Open up Internet Explorer. This method of setting your homepage will work on Internet Explorer versions 5 and 6. Browse to Ask.com (see Resources below).

      Click on the browser's "Tools" menu. Select "Internet Options."

      Click the "Use current" button in the homepage section of the "General" tab.

      Close the "Options" box by clicking "OK." You are done, and your homepage is now set to Ask.com.

    Using Netscape Navigator or Communicator

      Open up Netscape Navigator or Communicator. Browse to Ask.com.

      Click on the browser's "Edit" menu. Select "Preferences" from that menu.

      Choose the "Navigator" category. Click the "Use Current Page" button.

      Close the "Preferences" box by clicking "OK." Your homepage should be set to Ask.com.

    Using Internet Explorer 7

      Open up Internet Explorer 7. Browse over to Ask.com.

      Click on the down arrow on this page. This will open up a drop-down menu. Select "Add or Change Home Page." This will bring up the "Add or Change Home Page" dialog box.

      Select the first option, which should be "Use this webpage as your only homepage." A circle should appear in the radio button that you clicked.

      Click the "Yes" button at the bottom of the dialog box. Your homepage will then be set to Ask.com.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click your browser's home button to go back to your homepage.

  • In Internet Explorer 7, you can have a set of homepage tabs. Click the homepage button or start up your browser, and all homepage tabs will open.

  • Avoid adding too many tabs. If you have more than one tab opened in Internet Explorer 7 and you use the "Internet Options" dialog box to set your homepage, all opened tabs will be added as homepages rather than just Ask.com. You will have to remove any unwanted URLs from text box before clicking the "OK" button.
