How to Decorate For a Fall Wedding
A fall wedding calls to mind deep gold shades, beautiful foliage and crisp, cool weather. Decorating for a wedding during the time of year when the colors are changing can be lovely. Choose colors and themes that play up and emphasize the time of year. A warm color palette coupled with creative touches can make your fall wedding stand out.

1
Use nature to decorate. Fill pretty wicker baskets with shining apples, miniature pumpkins and stalks of wheat. Carve small holes in pumpkins and use them for candle holders. Toss fall leaves down the aisles instead of the more traditional rose petals.
-
2
Fill your wedding with fall colored flowers. Orange roses, sunflowers, red, orange and gold daisies or bunches of fall wildflowers will celebrate the season. Mix wheat in with bouquets to add another little fall touch.

3
Light candles that evoke the scents of fall and place them on the tables during the reception. Pumpkin, cinnamon, apple and spice flavors will remind guests of the cozy scents of the season and provide ambiance for the wedding.

Get creative with colors. If you're not crazy about the golden shades of fall, use a lovely, deep jewel tone such as purple for your fall wedding colors. Add plum and lavender for more interest, and little touches of gold if you desire. These colors work well with the colors found in nature this time of year.

5
Gather materials such as raffia and grapevine to decorate with. Grapevine wreaths can be placed on reception tables or pews and decorated with leaves or artificial pumpkins and ribbons. Raffia can be tied around bouquets to add a homespun look.
-
6
Dress up the aisle with miniature pumpkins at the end of pews or rows of seats. Or, carve jack-'o-lanterns that spell out something meaningful and place candles inside.
-
7
Tie fresh cinnamon sticks with raffia and place them on table tops. They smell wonderful and have a fall look to them.

Tips & Warnings
Continue the fall theme with your food choices. A wedding cake can be pumpkin or carrot cake flavored; caramel apples and pumpkin tarts can also be served.
Branch out with gourds. Pumpkins aren't the only fall gourd. Decorate with squash, white pumpkins and other gourds as well.
