Tips & Warnings
Have a bowl of water handy to dip your fingers in when the glue starts drying up on your hands.
When ripping paper, tear along the grain for straighter cuts. Across the grain, the tear will be too jagged and hard to control.
When using water-based acrylic paint, the first coat will be absorbed by the papier-mache´ and cause cracks on the paint, which is why more than one coat is needed for a more finished look.
You can make hearts of different sizes and colors. Let your imagination soar!
Due to the time required for drying the layers of glued paper and coats of paint, this project will take several days to complete.
Let adults do the cutting step.
Papier-mache´ is a fun activity for the family, but it could also be messy. Be sure to protect your workspace from inevitable drips of glue and paint.
