How to Write FAQs

If customers and clients continually ask the same questions about your company or services, you can create an FAQ page on your website to answer all the common queries. Answering customer's frequently asked questions in one place can save you time and satisfy their needs.

Instructions

    • 1

Answer basic questions that show consumers how they can conduct business with your company. Reveal if they can purchase things online and detail your billing practices. Think about how your site works and take them through it in clear steps.

    • 2

Include such information as payment methods, refunds and shipping times in your FAQs. These are the things customers are most concerned about. Give them thorough information on these topics.

    • 3

Include a brief history of the company if you don't have an "About Us" section. Keep the history concise, hitting the highlights only. Include contact information if the information is not posted elsewhere.

    • 4

Test FAQs with random individuals to see if you have sufficiently answered the questions. Ask them to check for clarity, wordiness and content.

    • 5

Read other companies' FAQs and compare them to yours. See if you left out anything. Study businesses that are like your own since they attract the same types of clients.

    • 6

Compile a list of genuine frequently asked questions. As consumers write to you, note which questions are frequently repeated. If your FAQ doesn't cover the issue, add it to your site.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remember that the "F" stands for "Frequently" so you don't have to answer questions that aren't asked often.
