Adopt a sea turtle, and the money goes directly toward the preservation of the wonderful creatures and the marine environment in which they live. Donations can also be made, in addition to gifts that can be purchased and the proceeds go toward the project. The funds contribute to the conservation, research, education and campaigning of the cause.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Participate in a nest adoption. Once a turtle has laid eggs on Watamu beach off the Indian Ocean, a fisherman notifies the organization which then pays the fishermen to protect the nest from poaching. By adopting a nest, your money goes to the fisherman who protects these eggs. A nest adoption costs $25.
Step2
Adopt a sea turtle for release. Fishermen off the coast of Kenya often find sea turtles in their nest which they slaughter for meat and oil. By adopting a turtle for release, the fishermen are then compensated for bringing the turtle safely to the organization. The turtle is then released into the wild. A release adoption costs $25.
Step3
Adopt online. Adoptions can be purchased online by major credit card at the organization's website (see Resources below). Payments are made through Paypal. Donations can also be given online.
Step4
Adopt through the mail. The forms can be found at the website. The organization only accepts checks made out in Pounds Sterling due to expensive conversion rates.
Step5
Receive an adoption pack once the adoption is made. The pack includes a certificate, a poster, email updates featuring your turtle and a free gifts including either a pendant or a bookmark.
